This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

That's a good thing in a sense, as I doubt anyone else wants to be told to 'stfu' by you. If that's your version of 'trying to be nice' then I'd hate to see the not being nice bit. user added image

But you might want to look at the smilies in my posts and consider the term 'sarcasm' before getting so over excited.

This is a jolly board, most of the time people manage to have a decent debate without shouting, or indeed telling other people to 'stfu'. Just a thought.

Wahooo!

I thought FF was a great peice of eyecandy. I had to see it twice because the first time I was looking at the cool backgrounds so much I missed the story. But in the end I found it a bit disturbing, the actors were just real enough to look like reanimated corpses- it was as if there was no life in them.

I do think it was a big step forward, but not to the mark yet.

and only a few years later we have Gollum, who seemed pretty alive and believable. So I think its not too far in the future for us (shake in your armani suit Tom Hanks- your times almost up user added image)

Flight of the osaris was even beter than FF for CG. If you have not seen it you have to rent Animatrix. Square made it also but a few years later. The only thing that pissed me off about final fantasy was that it was not even nominated for an academy award. Not even nominated. No special effects or animated movie. NOTHING!!!!!!!

people in charge I have one thing to say

Support Square

the reason why, is that FF: The Spirits Within, was a different kinda movie (being all CG and creating characters as photorealistic as possible) it was overlooked for some reason, it doesn't matter if it didn't get nominated, who cares what a bunch of people say anyway, what matters is that you enjoyed it and you continue to support Square and who knows maybe in the not to distant future the next FF movie will not get overlooked and forgotten about.

I support Square no matter what the outcome is.

SHrek..best CG movie..? I hope you mean story.

I'm new here...HI...and I'm here to defend what seems to be forgotten, or rejected.

Every one says Shrek is the best CG movie...or Nemo...or Ice Age. Television programs, and reviews talk about these movies as being the creme de la crop...I DISAGREE.

Sure they look great, and the animation is of a mastery we all strive to reach, but please do not forget FINAL FANTASY.

Yes, the story leaves a bit to be desired, but let me state plainly for the record--ITS CG TECHNOLOGY, MODELING, MATERIALS, LIGHTING, ANIMATION, AND EFFECTS are by far the most realistic ever concieved. The quality of render beats out all above listed movies. Final Fantasy (the spirits within) gets the cold shoulder, but come on, no CG movie out there compares to its render.

Don't forget it. LOL.

Final Fantasy (Spirts with in) was a let down cause it was nothing like the games. Final Fantasy is known for its great story, movies, and spells. In the movie you got weepy ass characters who can't cast spells and the story sucked compared to the games. The creatures were nothing like the game to. I think the movie would of been better for others if they did not call it Final Fantasy, because this movie was NOT Final Fantasy. People were looking for something else and gave them what they didn't want. Now if you never played the Final Fantasy games then you mite like the movie.

Know for the next Final Fantasy movie coming out I can't wait. Final Fantasy VII one of the greatest RPG's of all time is continueing the story from the game. It's taking place 2 years after the end of the game. It's called Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. They said it's going to be 60 min long. It's coming out next year in Japan. Don't know when it's coming out in states though. This will be a big treat for those Final Fantasy fans.
