This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i
Ok, tails done . That was quite a bit of work. Now I have to make it merge into his back with blood and torn skin . I really have to work at that claw on the top of his bone tail.. its not exactly wonderful in that middle part .
C&C welcome.

Wow, i love the fact that this is turning out to look nearly identical to concept. Can't wait to see the final level of detail to this model. I like the form of the back legs as well.
Thanks traiven .. next update should be me merging the skin into the spine.. after that you can wait a day or 2 before i post my render with the spikes.. heheh. Atm im thinking im going to need to extrude the skin a bit in areas for the spikes coming out of his back to look realistic.. i cant just have them coming out of the mesh.. i will figure something out though.
Thanks though so much for saying it looks the same as concept.. thats one thing that has taken me some extra hours . Glad to hear its paying off.

I have been working on this for at least a hour, well since my last post. I finally have merged the bone tail onto the body . Now it looks more realistic.. now im going to probably add some transluceny/bump maps on some planes to make some "disturbed fur" in that area.. just so that it takes away from the round look of the polys.
Hopefully tommorow i will fix the hole on that knife thing on his tail and then start on the spikes on his back . I have to make sure I am happy with the shoulder form before I start on the spikes though.. because the spikes are a one shot deal and will be modelled as extruding out of the mesh.. thats how i have decided to do it.

Hmm, the more i look at the above render i notice that i will have to work on the area i just made.. it looks mighty fake atm... didnt even clue into that. That will be tommorows work.
EDIT: I fixed it because it was bothering me tonight and i couldnt sleep.. not a big enough change to post though. I just merged a lot of edges and pulled a lot of verts out quite a bit.. .. fixed that sqare buttox too .

Ok, i was able to make this guy new paws.. I used a book of mine called "BIG CATS" and found some nice images. I modelled this paw off of a lynx picture . I need to work on back paws next though, but it will mostly just be merging it to the mesh.
Made from a poly cube . Gotta love polys!

Ok got all the paws attatched . Now its time to get to work on the shoulder area... details details! I have to get the shoulder area perfected because once i add the spikes theres no turnin back on that area.
