Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Jack of Spades,

Might wanna try extruding a face along a curve and then put a taper deformer on it (assuming you're working with polys).

Sorry if I'm intruding, I know the question was intended for Kurt.

No worries owmyi... those tusks where made using nurbs curves and set on a motion path with animated sweep....

I know the polygon way to do those,

but I don't get the motion path and sweep part.
Kurt, could you explain that more broadly please?

Ok draw a curve using ep curve tool.. then make a nurbs circle... attach the circle to the curve using attach to motion path option under your animate menu... once you get that done.... you can key frame the scale of the to get the tusk shape then do a animation sweep option under animate in you animation menu set.

There will be a tut comming out covering this technique...

are the ears a bit small or is it just me?
and the front leg jus seem to be running down a straight path, maybe add some musculature flow to give it more volume. ( the thigh or upper leg should be bigger than the leg or lower leg...)
and the creasings on the body should not be as sharp as those on the head.

------
my constructive crit user added image just minor improvements before you move on. keep it up bud.
