Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

Thats really awesome, but I think that the fact that the radio controller is so small washes out a lot of the details that you made onto the radio controll thing. Awesome plane render though.

Thanks Guys,

I'm going to set aside most of tomorrow to finish it off. MattTheMan, I know what you mean . . I've conceded that you're never going to see the screw heads etc, but then again if I get a nice render that's what will count . . I hope.

I'm going to try to frame and light the scene better so the Radio stands out a little more. I might try to get it a little closer to the camera again.

Cheers
Paul

hey, that is really cool. but did you just use HDRI or did u add a light?

because if you did, then i want to know how you got those perfect high quality soft shadows.

i need to fix the graininess in my shadows, for info see the battle forum

I used only HDRI (No lights).

I use a Half Sphere with the HDRI image plugged into it, Default lights off and the following:

Anti-Alias
Min 1
Max 3

Final Gather Rays 650 (You may need to up this value)
Min Radius 0.940 (I set this to 10% of Below)
Max Radius 9.400 (I set this to 10% of Scene Size)

Hope this is of help.

BTW: The radio Control may look like its floating a little and that's because it has rubber stops that keep it off the surface.

Cheers
Paul

Great final piece there! user added image

its a pity you cant show more of the controller detail off but it does look great. Good luck in the final showdown and hope you've had/are still having a great new year (12 hours ahead of the uk right?) user added image
