Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Sorry for not working on this lately, I kinda got distracteduser added image. I started on a hand. I dont think Im gonna put much more detail, as it would not fit the rest of my model. I also want him easy to rig, because I have never rigged anything before. I am going to try to learn rigging by myself, but If it doesnt work out I will get Mike's rigging tutuser added image. Here is the pic....

A few more quick updates.....I tweaked the body a LOT. I made Him thinner...gave him knees.......Changed the feet.......gave him a little more bulk on the arms.......moved the back of his arms further towards the back......the list goes on and on. His chest is a little too far stuck out.....Ill fix it. I promise. I did a few other things. I smoothed out the helmet(no more seam). I forget all the other stuff I just did. I also managed to hit a brick wall. I want the gun to be attatched to him, but I want him to still have full motion. I was thinking of strapping it on his back, but the revolver-like clip thing gets in the way. A shoulder strap wouldnt look good at all. Its not that important, so Ill worry about it later. Here is a pic of the body....

Sorry about the posting frenzy, but I just have to show this stuff...LOCK N LOAD.....I loaded up that poo launchin bad boy with ammo. Shes ready to fire. I also made them feet bigger. I just now noticed..The feet have no toes. I think If I duplicate a hand and scale it right it will work as a foot. Ill give it a try.

Look everybody....Hes got feet.....I think I pulled it off. Well, Im tired. I think Ill rig him tommorow. I dunno, I think It still needs a bit more tweaking. Ive looked at him so long I dont even know what it is anymore, much less what is wrong with it. Oh well. Here is its feet.

I should, but I know nothing about fur, and it is very hard to work with. Plus I dont think it would fit the ultra cartoony look Im going for. I dont know. I may try it.

Quick Update. Gave him an eyelid and smoothed out the toilet paper using the extrude edge along a curve tool. It worked great.

I like the hands they are a fun size. I didn't attach everything together when I rigged things lately, although I do have different things / elements in groups and layers to be able to hide them easily if I need to. Like the gripping feet!

That's more down to the weights each part of the skeleton is assigned- the creases made by things are then determined by the weights really, not the previous divisions between the parts. Mike's tut is very good on this btw.
