ive ben messing around with maya 5 and 6 a little bit and i can do a little bit of the basics... i was wondering 2 things..

1: what would be a good tutorial or book if you will for beginners.. because the introducing books didnt seem so basic...

2:do people who use maya at home use a community of computers to render their scenes because it seemed to take my machine a few days for a few seconds... my specs are

Msi Km2m Combo-l mobo
amd athlon 2400+ OC'ed @ 2600+ (2.14Ghz) @ 32ÂșC
1Gb Infineon (2x512)
evga FX 5700 (128-128-2.5)
