problem animating an antenna on a tank

hallo all and happy christmas !

i got two antennas on the top of a tank
but i don't like to animate them by hand (to much work to do
for 30 tanks)

but i like them to react like real one
so they shake around correct to the tank movement

any suggestions ?

If you've got maya 6 unlimited you can do this with dynamic curves. Other than that you may be looking at soft bodies (with high damping settings) or something along those lines.

Yes even a jiggle deformer might do the trick.

Try checking out about MEL, that stands for Maya Embebed Language, or in other words scripting.

No idea how you'd do what you want but that would do what you wanted if you can script it, then you'd (I think) simply move the model around and the scripting handles the rest no need to setup movements etc.
