This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.
ive run into this problem as well.
although im not sure what triggers it
from my expirence the only time it happens is when i go back and forth using ctrl+z a lot of times it eventually glitches.
but ive almost never been able to fix it, im usually lucky and can undo past where it started or reload the scene file.
cant tell you how to manually fix it other than be careful and save a lot.
if your scared its gonna happen again, maybe try convert to polys, then duplicate the object and delete the old one and work with the new fresh one
Okay this can happen occasionally with SDs but dont panic its not major.
Usually its best to re convert thru the menu instead of ctrl_z all the time (lazy)
Put a shortcut on a shelf for conversion to and from SD.
Okay back to the problem, go to the hypergraph and select the mesh and show the upstream and down stream connections. You will have an extra poly node in there that needs to be deleted. Also you may have SD blind data nodes in there as well which is basically history of the sd, just delete those, that should rectify the prob
