Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Well non of them worked cus i had already attached it to the skin.
So i started again thinking i did something wrong the first time but its doing the same thing again. I froze the transformations but still didn't work. And my pole vector already has a weight of 1.ooo so i don't know why its doing these wied things. i have put some pics on to ilistrate more what is happening.
I need it to bend like a finger would but it wont!!:angery:
I haven't attched it to the skin this time though for if there is any thing i need to do before i do that.

First of all I suggest you NOT to use IK on fingers, especialy IK rotate plane solver.

You usually put IK systems(RP and SC) in bone structure of 3 joints.

Use FK on fingers since it will give you a lot more control but make sure you got joint orientation set correctly.

Second, find out more on IK n FK systems and see differences...

Study other rigs...

I agree, use FK rather than IK. Otherwise, I imagine you need to disable the IK handle through the... (if I remember correctly) Modify > Evaluate Nodes > Disable All.

Then, you can rotate the finger joints and right click on them and Set Preffered Angle. Then, rotate them back to where they were and enable the IK again. It should bend the way you want.

If not (or even if it does) I'd say use FK. user added image

Good luck.
