This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Compositing program

Hello people!
Would you please tell me the name of any free compositing program. I know a bunch of you would suggest me "Shake" (although it's not free), but Shake is only for MAC, and I always freak out when I hear someone saying: "Use Shake!".
I need this to make my animations. I'm currently using VideoMach but its movies are a bit crappy, poor quality and so...
So, anyone? Thnx!

After effects is pretty good, it's not free though.

I should probably not say that, but I think (depending on your conscience of course) If you would use after effects for learning purposes only, why don't you just "get" it. If you are happy and want to use it professionally you should of course get a proper license. But I never quite understood how you are supposed to learn using all those programms, unless you are really rich it is impossible to afford buying them.

yeah, you're right... that's where torrents come in...
but it's illegal. Alias offered you maya complete with only watermark on renders. I think that is the best thing that producer of a program can do. it's fair from them!

Yeah, you're right it's illegal, and it is bad if people just steal software. But if I know I'll buy it eventually, (and that doesn't mean eventually in ten years) I see it more as borrowing. But that's just my opinion. However I think if you want something equaly powerful to afterEffects and the like it will be difficalt to find in the freeware section.

good luck with your search anyway.

That's why there are demo/tryout and all sorts of learning edition versions. They're free and just for that purpose: for evaluation and learning... Thread closed.
