Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

frustrating boolean problem

I've been trying to do a boolean difference on a modified and smoothed cylindrical shape you might have seen if you tried the screwdriver tutorial that's floating around.
I need to subtract from the cylinder with another shape.
Anyway, every time I execute the command both of the objects disapear. I've tried using different objects with the cylinder but nothing works. I've tried merge-vertices many time and it hasn't worked. IM SO FRUSTRATED!

any help would be appreciated, i can give more info if necesary.

Make sure the surfaces are both intersecting properly or both surfaces will disappear. Check it from all angles just to make sure and it should work.

PS: I've tried that tutorial as well and the same thing happened. it says to make the stetched spheres again and see if it worked but I just gave up.

Food 4 Thought: Does the universe end and if it does, whats behind the universe?
