Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Im gonna do a death sequence... I have a couple of premade low poly models already... just might change the head or something.

Its gonna be kind of the character (kung-fu master/samurai) finishes off the big boss (snaps his kneck and dices him)...something like that

Finally ready to start animating

I modelled a character real quickly. I usually setup my own custom rig, but I wanted to try the new maya 7 full body IK tool... and I have to say... its really cool! ...if you've ever used motionbuilder, you'll love it.

i dont think SSS is allowed for games.

I havent made any game models before so sorry for the dumb question ....is cloth ever used?

nope. or not cloth simulations, its all blendshapes and stuff. really quite complicated too!user added image

Cmon, do your animation, I want to see it :p

thanks Matt. Im gonna get around to doing the animation soon... thats what counts right. I was just going to use blendshapes for the head only.

I'm pretty sure Everquest 2 has a cloth simulator in game?

Nice model, it should look good animated

hey, thank for the responses. Im pretty sure a cloth sim has been used in certain games before, you can still set the poly cont of the cloth pretty low and get some decent effects. Anyways, I just modified the model a bit to make it look like it has clothing...save on rendering time user added image

im pretty sure they use subsurface scattering in next gen game like brother in arm:hell's highway(next gen of course)
