Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Maya 7 has a compass in the top right hand corner, with the points for top, bottom, front, back, left and right. Click each relevant point and the camera will move to each relevant view. Be aware clicking this only simlulates the Orthographic views. You are still in perspective mode to go back to the standard persp view by click the bluesquare in the middle.
