Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

skin shader

I am using the maya fast skin shader but am having trouble getting some veins to show up on a characters skin. I have attached the texture map with the veins into the subdermal scatter layer but they are not showing up as clear as I need them to and are very faint and almost invisible when I render at a distance. Is there another attribute I can attach this texture to in order to get things looking better.

Many thanks,

Leon Labyk

Can you not up the weight of the layer or lower the weight of the top map.

Or in the map make the veins darker so they show through or use a combination of the lower map's veins added to the upper map to bring them out abit more.

seriously, think about it properly and paint them on the color map in a subtle way. If they are to pronounced just decrease the opacity in the layer. It will still look as good and its the easiest way. By adding extra maps you are asking for a longer render time. Especially with this shader and MR
