Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Sculpt Geometry Brush

I'm trying to use the sculpt geometry tool for the first time here (basically because I had no luck the first time I tried), and I'm doing it as mentioned in one of the tutorials. Now in the tutorial it said "use the tool as we did earlier" although I'm positive it hasn't been used yet as I've been following it pretty closely. My problem is when I use the tool to soften the formation of a hand, it basically just takes all the vertices and rearranges them into a big ugly mess. I've played around with the different options, but so far I'm not seeing anything that looks to fix my problem. Any ideas?

Sorry for people that took the time to read this, I figured it out after I posted and am unable to delete the thread.

I didn't understand why you want to delete it, but to use sculpt geometry tool on polygons you need to have a really low opacity such as 0.01 or even lower.

When in doubt, delete history and freeze transformations.

Alright thanks, knowing that makes it easier than what I had been doing.

I just figured because I figured out the solution to the problem I was having right after I posted, I wouldn't bother cluttering the board with the topic. I suppose it would be easier to leave it there though, so others could use it.
