I think it's the Water texture node you need to connect. Not the bump map node as it looks like you're doing while looking at your screen shot...

thats it..thanks man.

but now im stuck at step 8

the graph editor..

problem is there is nothing to move..says to move the curve..

but what curve? theres nothin on the graph?

I have the ripple 1 node selected..and just in case i tried with the water texture selected

any insight?
