Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Twist parts of a Motion Path

Hi all !

I'm trying to create my animated logo. In it, the film tape is going from the first "a" to the second drawing the "K" of the name AKA.

For that issue I used a Motion Path between the two "a", but I cannot twist correctly the film tape in order to properly see the K when viewing it from front.

Here is a screenshot :

I would like to twist some parts of the motion path in order to make only some parts of the K twisted. Is it possible in a simple way ?

Thanks for any advice.

Just a thought you might be able to make it look like its folding if you turn on banking and bend the k part a little............dave

When I try that I cannot chose the specific part of the "K" I want to rotate : the rotation applies for all the film tape...

Had a good look could not find the plugin, what you can do is add a flow path to your motion path, tick curve in the lattice around option and change the front divions to higher then its a case of going into the lattice and tweeking it.................dave

Thank you for your response.
I allready tried the flow path and tweeking the curve is fine. But when I launch the animation, the distorsions are being randomed ! I don't understand why.

Thanks.

I've just try it and the result is what I want. But when I launch the animation, instead of randomize the distorsions, the distorsions follow the film tape !!
