Trouble with the Curve

I'm creating 3d letters by drawing them out as EP curves and then extruding them. What I'm noticing is that the last point will not autoconnect with the first point so you don't have a closed shape. Is there a way to connect them together? Will this give me trouble later down the road when say for example I try to convert the 3d extruded object to polygons or to ncloth or other common task?

Hi Jarwulf,

With your curve selected go to Surfaces>Edit Curves>Open/Close Curves. This should close the ends of the curve for you. (It does for me in Maya 2012.)
