This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

problems with camera control

Hi all.
I recently imported an FBX and the viewport is only rotating in 2 axes.
I tried resetting Maya's prefs but it seems to be in the file itself.
Holding alt + LMB and dragging left and right the viewport tumbles in circles clockwise or counter-clockwise but won't rotate horizontally.
It works fine dragging up and down---rotating the scene edge-on.
There are locators all over the model---not sure what that's about but they don't seem to be causing this.

Please---any help would be very appreciated!
Thank you!

Jeff

Check if any of the transformation attributes are locked. If you create a new camera, does that have the issue as well?

Hi Genny. Checked all of the camera controls. Everything appears unlocked. Even selected them just in case and tried 'unlocking' them from the dropdown menu. New cameras have the same issue.
Only with this file. Other files work fine so I know it's not Maya's overall prefs.

Can you post the scene?
