Trimmed surfaces can

Hello friends !

well, I don´t know if that is true. I´ve trimmed a surface - and the result I want to stitch with a second surface.

But it seems to be impossible.

Are there other possibilities ?

I try to avoid trims as much as possible because of this very reason.
