Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Maya Vector Rendering - Major Problems with shading

Hi user added image

well, i tried the vector renderer in maya, fine results, as long as its only single-colored, more colors result in STRAANGE highligts.

I tested it with a simple nurbs sphere, same result, i tesselated it very high, same result, different material, different lighting, same result user added image

See Picture, left is vector, right is software rendering, standard lighting, standard material user added image

IS that 2 color, Cause it looks nice.

You will get those highlights, as the vector render is a bit finnicky.

Nono i don´t want to have the highlights like the software rendering user added image I just want sharp highlights, like its rendered with a cartoon renderer, but the highlights are just.. roughly and not round as they shoud be, just strange in shape.

Maya vector renderer uses the ravix engine which is part of swift 3d. Swift 3D for max has muuuuch better results, there must be a way ^^

Thanks user added image
A tut for that? No, it´s modelled out of an incredible genious idea ^^
No idea for some BIG maya-project -> boring->tv program sucked -> modeling user added image

I suggest you use Maya for modeling, so try www.learning-maya.com, a LOT tuts.

A great poly-face-modeling-way (i think) is https://mr2k.3dvf.com/tutorials/max/tutorials_joan.htm It´s for max but its no problem to model like that in maya.

Bad english, sorry user added image
