Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

October Challenge - Witchy - Normal

Well I'll start in normal and drop down later if I need to.

I'll use the shorter clip of the lion and it will be a hunting disaster themed thing. Or a wonky walk cycle user added image

Well the star gets posted first.

Hunting Guy. Has the brains of a lively antelope. In a jar in his kitchen. His own brain is rather small.

That's a very good point; I pulled the arms out a bit and he looks far better. Thanks Kurt.

Excellent opportunity for me to immeditely disprove that comment by posting my storyboard Howard! user added image

I am afraid I spent my training learning to cut people up not draw them, so apologies for the scrawl. Hopefully you can see where the story is going, however if not I'll take it off and post it as bullet points! user added image

Yes I have found a few flushing noises and the duelling banjo music from Deliverance, which I would rather like to get in there somehow.

Yes I had that in mind, I really wanted to have him run off a cliff and do that still running in mid air then plunge out of sight thing as, although it's a cartoon cliche, I've always found that funny. I really like the old classic cartoons.

Quick question on eyes and parenting / binding. If I want to move the eyes seperately (have a tutorial on creating locator things) should they be parented to the main bone in the head, or the head itself, or just bound along with everything else?

You can parent the eyes to the head bone normally, but aim constrain them to seperate locators.

I always like in the thing where the hat is left behind, when a cloud or whatever is left behind in the charachters shape.
