Vertex's are merging but I still have an edge.

Hi, I cant get rid of the edge, it looks like my vertex's are merging.
I have my vertex merge dist. is 4000 but I also tryed 10k.

I have also tryed merge edge tool without luck.
I cant move forward and convert these poly's to subd.

It sounds like the normals to me,

go back in the history to before you combined the poly objects, select one of the parts and reverse the normals (in maya 8 Normals have a menu of their own, in previous versions they are under the edit poly menu). Now when you combine the parts and merge the verts you shouldn't have any problems.

Hi, Thanks for the help.
I actually didnt have to undo. I just selected the faces w/ the normals that
where facing up and shift selected reverse normals on those faces.
