The only thing I can think of is that the other side is another object, and you have not applied texture to it. Does it show up when rendering? The uv's are probobly the same, and it would probobly show up the same if yo apply the same texture.
just uv map the faces on the other side and have them line up with the uvs you have textured already, you can hold V in the uv window and snap the uvs to the other uvs so that it all lines up correctly.
