Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

The only way to live a good life is to act upon your emotions

Brian, you're doing some great work. It's probably been asked before, but I missed the answer. What are you using to render such nice images through maya?
Mental Ray?
GI_Joe! Think its hard to tell the difference between GI_Joe and MR, Guess MR is Better because It is True GI and It Does Color Bleeding. But I like to stick with GI_Joe because it seems to render faster. At least for me it does! Another Update comming in a few min!
Brian
Well, it's different, but I like it a lot. You really need to do a tutorial on building one of these things Do you use the bevel tool to get those rounded edges?
nope, just take the outer edges, and extrude them in a bit, convert it to Sub D's, then select those outer edges, and make them have a partial crease. Hey, I have an hdri version n a few min comming up that i think looks alot better!
Brian
Here is an HDRI test, These aren't going to be the final colors, but I just thu them on.. Think I am going to stick with Hdri. Well.... Fake Hdri anyways
Brian
Thanks! I agree, it dosen't really get effected by the Hdri fake. Well here is the last Hdri Test, for now I promise. I will work on the model again b4 I post another Image. Thanks!
Brian
