Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

i kind of like it at the moment, tho yeah, a night scene might be cool. at the moment i still think it needs something. maybe a door at the end could be open slightly with light coming through. or some **** off big ogre.

elephantic: Thanks. I had planned to do the flaming torches thing, one on each side of the arch, and a couple down by what is the door at the end but can't see because of the lighting, I might do another version at a later date with the light coming from the outside, but not do it as a dungeon.

arran: Kind of thanks...lol! The door at the end isn't prominent enough at the moment so I'll take up your idea and try it with it open a crack and light coming in too, cheers for the thoughts. And if I could model an ogre yet I would certainly put him in there, may need some practice before that happens!

hammer.horror: You'll get dirt, and I was thinking dried blood sprayed up the walls but will give that some thought before going ahead with it,it was meant to be just as the sun has come up and as the dungeon is low the angle of light is beaming in. As I just said further up what is becoming an essay, lol, I might do a couple of versions of this piece and alter the geometry in each to make a completely different scene, that could be a good idea for a challenge, download a simple pre-made scene and make three very different looking scenes from it....

Just done a basic torch holder, now I need fire! Am going to texture it first and see how it looks, then get started on making some flames... After I add some hay or whatever inside it that is!

Trying out the suggestions of making it a night scene, and I'm thinking it's the way to go! Next is to add dirt I guess and take it from there.

I can see three yellow dots... you may need to lighten the scene up a bit...

Point taken djblazer, I'm working on it, and putting some dirt on the walls... It looks a little better full size but when I checked back on what I posted last I see what you mean!

Cheers elephantic, I thought it may also be how people have their monitors set up, also screen size would come into it I guess, but it probably also looks better the way it is now anyway! Here's an updated version, I am wondering if everyone else is getting this weird blocky red bits all over the picture too, I'm not sure why that's happening as it's not the way it looks really!

Are the flames/lights for the flames casting any light? Just they dont seem to be that much.

agreed with gster,
i looked at it and wondered why the torches aren't emitting light...
well... it looks like they are, but the walls aren't being lit up at the same brightness as the flames
what lights are you using?

I've used a mixture of lights, the front two are ambient and the back two (there is two but one is out of sight are point, to be honest I was using a mixture to see how each of them work and what effect they have, anyone got any suggestions as to which would be better? The flames aren't lighting anything, they're paint effects....
