This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

how many different uv snapshots are you going to have to take/have taken with a model this size. I imagine the head being it's own, the legs it's own, and so on.

Looks good can't wait to see it finally textured, been watching ever since the contest.

I am not sure of the exact amount of snapshots yet but it will be a lot more than normal because there were so many details modeled, the head is one and the front body is another and the rear another , but the boiler is a couple and the legs have around 6, the railings also can't be done in a single snapshot but I would rather make more textures than try to cram too much together. Also I want to make a few different texutres for the same snapshot so the individual items that are duplicated are different.

I might end up with as many as a 15 to 20 but hey if a job is worth doing right user added image

Yes the texture style I have in mind is post battle limping home kinder look, so dirt , rust and a little scorched .
