ok I've added the red spill light and the wall reflection... its a bit hard to make it out properly but it is there. It's gonna need more work though.

Santa, if you look at the reflected elements in that glass, you will notice that the tank has not moved close enough to the camera to be reflected there yet. I had mentioned it to him for the animation, or if he moves it closer. I think he said "wall reflection" which i think he means the tank is being (very slightly) reflected on the blue wall on the right side.

Alan this is looking ILL! GO you! You know i love the photoreal stuff, and i HAVE been watching this pretty closely, its just you got all the PROs giving you tips, and i just can't think of anything they haven't mentioned. I will beable to help you a bit with the Video comping when it comes to that tho.

Looking great!

What do you use to do the composite?

yeah it is actually animated Kev, however the problema is that maya tends to make the shadows flicker like all hell. I think it's a clipping plane problem. But I havent really looked at this for a onth or so now. I really should user added image I will maybe take a look at it tomorrow.

I should really finish the mapping and every thing (only the front end is mapped) user added image

Well, my experience has been, even with Max, shadow Maps tend to look good and be fast for still shots but during an animation they flicker a bit even when you set the res way high. raytraced cannot be beat. They just take a bit longer.

hmmm possibly, but then I have the problem of my dome light raytracing lots and lots of shadows.. I need to look at this. I may even go with a heavily optimised mental ray render... user added image we'll see I've got another little project on the go which I havent posted yet user added image
