UV Texture Map in PhotoShop

Hello all,

Once you create a model in Maya, how do you get a 'Map' of the model into photoshop where you can edit the textures and save as a .TGA? I watched the texture video by M. Mckinley and he starts with the map already loaded. Yes, I'm new and Ignorant.....doiiiii!

Ideas?

Open the UV texture editor, i think it's under the window menu. Then click Polygons>UV Snapshot.

Thanx for replying ckyuk!

I tried your suggestion using a spherical polygon and the result was a .iif file that photoshop can't read.

do I need to do some type of conversion?

Iff? Switch the file format to .tga in Maya before you take a UV snapshot.

If your in the US enjoy Memorial Day w-end, as for me it's beer and beaches (P.C. Florida)

Cheers Fellas and thanx again
