Nurbs booleans operations

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use the booleans operations for anything other than the nurbs primitives(sphere, square, ect)
I have tried to use extrusions, lofts, revolves and boundrys, but they all show the (not a valid nurbs shell error) or make an invisible boolean.
Are the curve parameters the cause of the problem? or is it just not possible.
Any advice would be nice.

nurbs boolean work on all nurbs surfaces ie. lofts, bi rails etc. booleans are tricky, so the first thing you should assume is that you overlooked something. if you post the file i can try to help you.
