Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

ZBrush OBJ's

Anyone know if there is a way to clean the ZBrush obj's so that Final Gather works with them. I'm trying to do this without adding geometry. When i do a convert to subD then back to poly i get more geometry. Though the subD surface isnt too bad I just hate fine tuning the tesselation for subD's, I kow, I know, I'm lazy sometimes.

In addition, going back to poly from sub d adds geometry. trying to keep the low poly count for animation.

notice that the obj straight from zbrush doesnt create any occlusion on the plane beneath it. The sphere is there for control in the experiment.

Here is the file Gster123. As i said earlier, the only way i was able to fix it was to convert to sub D. Being able to use the obj without adding geometry would save me a lot of time. thanks for your help.

Oh BTW I figured this stupid problem out. When Maya 6 imports an OBJ you need to change its render stats for Final Gather rays to bounce. Just in case annyone else didnt know.
