Getting a blocky render preview

So I'm working on texturing and want to see how my bump is coming out. However, when I try to render I get a blocky render as seen below.

what do you see in your viewport if you press "1"?

I seem to remember mental ray being an option that did good renders, but it's gone from the drop menu for some reason???

Got it. For some reason Mental Ray was un-checked in my plug in manager. All I had to do was check load on Mayatomr.ml and...

Humm, my bump doesn't seem to be working though...
