avoiding a pole - is it always nesessary?

Hi all,

I have a poles in my topology where I've offset to get a smaller face - I'm not sure whether its something i should be bothered about or not, any advice would be appreciated,

its the top of a salt shaker if that helps..

It's only a problem if it looks odd when you smooth the model user added image

thats the answer i was hoping for - thanks - i dont think it looks odd but you get it in your head that certain things are bad then you start to see things
