This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Huhh ! it seems that this thread should be moved to WIP...

Well I resized the asphalt and changed the pavement texture , added liquid from the pipe and added an electric box (SEGBA) , changed the STOP sign to spanish and added a 1989 characteristic graffiti from Bs.As.

I've been thinking about this for a while (its been bugging me) because I have been having the same problem with transparency maps. I think maybe you are forgetting to use a specularity map to turn off specularity for the transparent areas- that's what was doing it to me. I love the lighting, by the way! especially the shadow of the ladder across the door.

Modified the whole roof rails and net (used a grid and a bend deformer for that...) , added dried mud to the STOP sign pole and remaped the sewage pipe . There is a very big version of this image in my Maya's webpage:

THX

I created a NURBS plane and applied a simple shader with a RUST image as color. and a grid render node connected to transparency and set the U and V values in the 2D Placement node so that it has many rows and columns.

It si probably beacuase the sky is in a background layer and the image itself is alpha channelled so that the there is a some sort of antialiasing.

you can just barely see the "torn" parts of the overhang, as if it was paper on clear plastic and the paper was partially torn off but the clear plastic is still there and reflecting.... I'm probably jus' being anal-retentive about the details again user added image

lovin' it, keep up the good work!
